Left and Right Ventricular Volumes and Global Systolic Function in Isolated Left Bundle Branch Block: A Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background Echocardiographic studies have shown a reduction in global left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (LVEF) in patients with isolated left bundle branch block (LBBB). This is likely due to altered electromechanical activation and resultant loss of septal contribution to LV systolic function. We sought to characterize LV volumes and global systolic function in adult subjects with an isolated (not related to infarct or cardiomyopathy) LBBB and compared these data to matched adults without LBBB and were free of clinical cardiovascular disease, using Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging.

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...
متن کاملThe differential impact of intraventricular and interventricular dyssynchrony on left ventricular remodeling and function in patients with isolated left bundle branch block
Interventricular dyssynchrony evaluated with cardiac magnetic resonance is an independent predictor of systolic dysfunction and left ventricular remodeling while intraventricular dyssynchrony is an independent predictor of LV diastolic dysfunction in patients with isolated LBBB. Comprehensive evaluation of both these parameters of dyssynchrony would be useful in selecting patients for cardiac r...
متن کاملArrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia presenting as right ventricular outflow tract tachycardia.
A case of a 51-year old male is presented. A left bundle branch block inferior axis tachycardia was manifest. At electrophysiological study this tachycardia was inducible and was ablated in the septal right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT). Two other tachycardias were identified both with right bundle branch block (RBBB) morphology raising the suspicion of diffuse pathology. Arrythmogenic right...
متن کاملElectrocardiographic findings in correlation to magnetic resonance imaging patterns in African patients with isolated ventricular noncompaction
OBJECTIVE Isolated ventricular noncompaction is a rare primary genetic cardiomyopathy characterized by persistent embryonic myocardial morphology without any other cardiac anomalies. Arrhythmias are frequently present, including both tachyarrhythmia and conduction disturbance. Our study aimed to describe the electrocardiographic findings and to correlate them with the clinical presentation and ...
متن کاملRight ventricular Hemodynamic Alteration after Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Children with Congenital Heart Disease
Introduction: In patients who underwent surgery to repair Tetralogy of Fallot, right ventricular dilation from pulmonary regurgitation may be result in right ventricular failure, arrhythmias and cardiac arrest. Hence, pulmonary valve replacement may be necessary to reduce right ventricular volume overload. The aim of present study was to assess the effects of pulmonary valve replacement on rig...
